The Magnat MR 780 combines elegantly audiophile hi-fi sound with substantial power reserves: Used in the pre-amp stage are high-quality selected and extensively burnt-in ECC 81 valves, ensuring that well-loved, warm sound. The output stage relies on a low-emission toroidal transformer and provides an impressive 100 watts of RMS power per channel at 4 ohms. Added to this is a virtually overwhelming range of connection options for analogue and digital sources, including Bluetooth aptX. Where necessary, a high-quality Wolfson D/A converter takes care of the signal transformation with up to 192 kHz and 24 bits. A phono pre-amplifier for MM systems, an integrated DAB/DAB+ tuner as well as an FM receiver and a large number of further details make the MR 780 one of the best stereo receivers in this price category. This high standard is clear from the very first glimpse. You can see immediately from the full-metal enclosure with its solid, brushed aluminium front panel that this unit belongs in the high-end range.
