ps40 Limited Edition Loudspeakers
Overview
The ps40 LE’s are serious audiophile loudspeakers which produce remarkable resolution and clarity.
ps40 LE is two way, bass reflect ported, and thanks to the drive units our engineers have developed specifically for this model, they deliver an outstandingly accurate musical performance.
High frequencies are provided by an Air Motion Transformer and the low frequencies are catered for by a 6 ½ “hemp impregnated cone drive unit. High quality components are used for the filter network.
Presented in a high gloss walnut finish, the enclosures employ a rigid construction with robust bracings across the inside of the cabinet for extra reinforcement helping to eliminate cabinet resonances.
The ps40 Limited Editions can be mounted or stands or shelves and are an ideal choice for medium to large rooms in two-channel stereo applications.
The tweeter selected by our acoustic engineers for the ps40 LE is an AMT (Air Motion Transformer) type. AMT tweeters offer excellent transient response and low distortion ratios, resulting in a more natural and musical ambience to be heard.
The low frequency drive unit is a 4.5” Hemp impregnated cone type. Hemp has less cone break up and distortion than other fibre coned drive units and improves tonality and resolution.
High quality audio components are used for the filter network ensuring delivery of a clean audio signal.
Eight coats of clear lacquer have been applied to the loudspeaker enclosures to give a deep, luxurious finish to the real wood walnut veneers.
The front of the loudspeaker has an easily removable, magnetically held grille to create a clean front surface when the grille is removed.
High quality, gold plated binding posts with thumb nuts are fitted to ensure loudspeaker connection cable is held securely, whilst ensuring the signal path from the amplifier to the filter network located inside the cabinet meets the least possible resistance.
