Sony RDHGTK37IP Product Review

About two years ago Sony brought out the replacement for the Sony G-Tank, the Sony RDHGTK33IP iPod-Dock/Ghetto-blaster. The Sony RDHGTK33IP was a great unit, so great that they sold out so fast in NZ that Sony struggled to keep up with demand!

This time round I have been assured they will be more than enough stock, and with this I really hope so since the Sony RDHGTK37IP has had a so much needed improvements with the slight changes to iPhones/iPods that have happened in the last couple of years!

Out of the box the Sony RDHGTK37IP has quite a nice sound to it, it still needs some time to run in but overall the definition to detail was great. After a good ten hours on the Sony RDHGTK37IP it still has great definition but the bass has increased a touch, don’t get me wrong these 8″ Woofers are never going shake your house to the ground but what they will do is give your music is a nice full sound!

The features on the Sony RDHGTK37IP are similar to the the older RDHGTK33IP but the have improved the iPod/iPhone dock to a lightning adaptor plug allowing the newer iPod/iPhones to be used via the dock.

You can still used older iDevices & Mp3/Androids via USB but the NEW feature that really grabbed my attention is the Bluetooth & more so the One Touch Bluetooth feature where if you own a NFC device (Near Field Communication) all you need to do is tap your device onto the RDHGTK37IP and your away listening to your favourite music!

Overall this is a great Dock/Ghetto-blaster which is very versatile with it being compatible with either iDevice and or Android devices via the Dock, USB or Bluetooth. The flashing lights I must admit are very eye catching & most likely going to have your kids asking to put the RDHGTK37IP in their room. Perfectly functional and ideal for all ages, rooms or garages, parties or even quiet Sunday afternoons relaxing in the back yard!

I thought I’d just put one in a car for a laugh too…
