Digital Designs SS1b Mono-Block Amplifier Product Review

The Digital Designs SS Series Mono-block Amplifier returns to the line up in its 3rd generation making 50% more power than the 1st generation. The Digital Designs SS1b delivers 700 watts of power at 12 Volts, over 900 Watts at alternator charging levels and 1400 watts of dynamic power, all from less than 7 inches wide and 11 inches long. Although the original SS1 may have been ahead of its time, the “b” version is perfect for integrating high end audio in more tightly constrained vehicle interiors.

Overall this is an amazing little amplifier and I emphasise “Little” is it is only slightly bigger than an A4 sized book! It also has more than enough power as we tested almost every Digital Designs sub-woofer in our arsenal and it didn’t struggle once! This is a perfect amplifier for someone that wants a decent amount of power without sacrificing space and what makes it even better in my opinion is that you can strap two of these amplifiers together for over double the power and still have heaps of space!
